Hello Custer community! The community filled my bucked. Last week, I had a family reach out to say how interesting and important our lessons have been to their kiddos. It made me (and the other counselors) very happy. Thank you all for being so receptive to our Wednesday Wellness lessons. Last week, talked about identifying the intensity and precursors of our emotions, as well as a couple of calm down tactics. For our 6th Wednesday Wellness lesson, we expanded our toolkit of calming strategies by learning about Mindfulness. Mindfulness is noticing what is happening right now. When you notice what is happening around you, it can help you to calm down when you’re sad, angry or frustrated. Mindfulness helps you deal with tough emotions, and mindfulness can make you happy and feel good.
